Albany At Ease
Providing respite for serving and past Australian Defence Force members
Albany At Ease is based in the Great Southern region of WA and is a not for profit, community-based organisation which supports Australian Defence Force veterans, serving members and their families by providing respite stays on the picturesque South Coast of WA.
It is understood that military life carries many unique stressors and Albany At Ease was created by the local communities of Albany & Denmark WA, to recognise and thank ADF veterans and serving members for their service and sacrifice.
Beginning in 2023, the program was inspired by Robe to Recovery, a successful veteran respite initiative based in Robe, South Australia. In 2015, founders of the Robe to Recovery program explored avenues on how their local coastal community could express its gratitude for service to the ADF community. It began with a simple offer of complimentary accommodation to offer time away from the rigours and challenges of military service and has now grown to include the whole community in welcoming ADF guests to many complimentary accommodation opportunities and local gifts of gratitude.
Based on this successful program, it is with great pride that the communities of Albany (with its strong military history - Home of the Anzacs) & Denmark, have rallied together and formed a similar programme in support of ADF veterans, serving members and families.
