Following and during Australian Defence Force military service, there are a significant number of ADF members and veterans in need of support. Mental & physical health challenges are all too common amongst the ADF services community and whilst traditional support agencies and services provided and funded by federal and state governments are mainly designed to meet the medical, clinical, and physical needs of veterans, the support spectrum must include the emotional, social and family cohesion components that are so crucial to recovery and reintegration.

The community has a vital role to play in the recovery process and Albany At Ease has been created to meet this need.

Based on a proven and successful ADF community based respite program in South Australia, the Albany At Ease program provides the opportunity for referred ADF veterans, members, their partners and families to spend quality time together in a beachside holiday location away from the pressures and stress of their day to day challenges.

The healing value of this program cannot be understated, not only for ADF veterans or members but also for their partner or family. Military service has many unique stressors and it is with great pride that Albany & the Great Southern region have rallied together to express gratitude and appreciation for their service.
